How can i teach my Burmese male cat, to do tricks and come for his name and follow me?

The key thing to remember when training cats is to always train right before meal time with food treats so if your Burmese is free fed you will need to switch to a scheduled feeding to help your cat stay more focused during training. Training sessions should always be short and fun or cats will quickly lose interest in learning. Each technique should be taught one at a time until they are perfected before moving on to another behaviour (aka tricks).

Burmese cats are extremely intellignet. I am sure you're realised that by now. They also tend to be one-man/woman cats. If you spend a lot of time and attention on him and he chooses you as his favourite person, you'll find it extremely easy to get him to come when ever you call (partly because he'll trail you all hours of the day anyway). I had a Tonkinese male and he was a joy to have around. He did not need food rewards to do tricks, simply my approval and praise. He died at 16 years of age. Hope you have a lot of good years and love with your cat.

My mother has raised and bred Burmese for 22 years. They are almost like dogs, just keep calling him by his name and he will pick it up quick. Throw a toy for him, then when he starts walking towards you, praise him and throw it again. This will teach him how to fetch in a very short time.

If he's still a kitty it will be easier. He has to trust you. And it takes practice. Just praise or reward him each time he does it right. My favorite trick is "run for your life" and he does, without question, right under my bed. (to escape wild nieces and such). I have a follow me command, its "lets go" and he follows me where ever (but not into his pet carrier).
