Sometimes it takes getting used to the cat may feel jealous. Give them time they will eventually start to like each other or just learn to get along in the same house.

They will almost definitely get used to the new puppy. Is the puppy doing something to bother them? Our new dog would constantly chase and try to snap at our cats, but after disciplining her enough, she stopped and the cats were no longer afraid to come around her. Even if the dog isn't bothering them, in time, they should adapt to her being around. Also, as the dog gets a little older and mellows down, the cats shouldn't mind her as much.

Sorry but I'm not a cat person. Get rid of the cats and enjoy the loving company of a real companion. Dogs are the best, ask the rest of America. 75% of people have dogs, only 25% have cats.

I received a dog a couple of years in the past when my cat was about three. The cat saved attacking and hissing. [Wasn't hard to break up an no one EVER got hurt.] I consider she used to be simply being just a little territorial. Anyway, she got used to the dog and now they even sleep within the equal bed! Just keep an in depth eye on them.

When ever you are holding the puppy and the cats come around give them a really good treat. They will associate the puppy with something really good and soon they will be happy to see the puppy.

My 3 cats acted the same way when I got my Yorkshire Terrier. Now my Red Tabby and he are best of friends. The other two cats ignore him.
