Yes. It can lead to death as it is a malfunction of brain. Depression can cause high BP levels that can shorten the life span of the heart.

Yes. In addition to the ways you listed above, a depressed person could die due to lack of eating and sleeping for a period of time. This person would probably also be getting no fresh air, exercise, and possibly not even drinking water.

You should get this person to a health professional asap. If the person won't go, you should call an ambulance. Depression truly can kill.

The is answer to that is no (medically). It cannot be a cause of death. But yes it kills people all the time. It is worse for health than anything since you do not want to live long. Can one die of smoking? No, never. There has never been a death, where cause is smoking. But it is the biggest cause of lung cancer, strokes and heart attacks. Those 3 can cause death.

No one has ever had a cause of death be stupidity. But on TV a woman was in a contest to see who could drink the most water without urinating. She died of water intoxication, not stupidity. But she would not have had that water intoxification if she were not stupid. See site below for natural help for depression. Actually yes, you made of heard it before and you should, rarely do people die of a "broken heart", these people are beyond depressed and they are engulfed with sadness; thus, they die due to heart failure and even though they may have a chance to live they resist to be saved

If you are depressed badly enough your body can shut down bc it has no more will to live.

go to the doc there are some really good depression meds out there! keep your chin up!!!

my doctor told me that untreated depression can cause certain areas of your brain to shrivel up!!!! not exactly death, but still...pretty scary!
