WHO AM I
Adam, God made out of dust,
But thought it best to make me first.
So I was made before man,
To answer God's most holy plan.
A living being I became,
And Adam gave to me my name.
I from his presence then withdrew,
And more of Adam never knew.
I did my maker's law obey,
Nor ever went from it astray.
Thousands of miles I go in fear,
But seldom on earth appear.
For purpose wise which God did see,
He put a living soul in me.
A soul from me God did claim,
And took from me the soul again.
So when from me the soul had fled,
I was the same as when first made.
And without hands, or feet, or soul,
I travel on from pole to pole.
I labor hard by day, by night,
To fallen man I give great light.
Thousands of people, young and old,
Will by my death great light behold.
No right, no wrong can I conceive,
The scripture I cannot believe.
Although my name therein is found,
They are to me an empty sound.
No fear of death doth trouble me,
Real happiness I will never see.
To heaven I shall never go,
Or to Hell below.
Now when these lines you slowly read,
Go search your Bible with all speed.
For that my name is written there,
I do honestly to you declare.

Its either angels or Lucifer like the other person said...But basically lucifer is an angel. But im leaning more torwards an angels...Considering God did create angels first, then created man which is why their soul was taken away as the poem says as man is not a servent of god yet angels are. "To fallen men" angels give hope or light in time of need.Seems for an inspirational poem its angels

The sun doesn't seldom appear on earth, does it? Cause i see that thing everyday.

What a great riddle you've put before us.

Can't be found in dictionary or thesaurus?

Appears in the Bible 4 times you say?

To look all through it would take more than a day.

So, with that in mind, I'll venture a guess:

The name "Arch Angel" sounds the best?!

1)It's a whale that travels from pole to pole.
2)Jonah's soul was put in a whale and Jonah's soul was claimed from it.
3)Eskimo's used it's body fat as oil to burn in the night for light and heat. For young and old.
4)"Fallen men" signifies that they were sleeping.
5)"Thousands of people....a great light behold" implies that at the whales death, thousands of people will use it's body fat for cooking, burning hundreds of camp fires and to light thousands of lanterns.

it can't be sea monsters or whales because their soul was never taken away, it is not angels because they can go to heaven or hell, it could be the sun but I don't think it ever had a soul.
maybe earth

im going to guess, the sun (as apposed to son) as pole to pole means the earth and it was there before adam was. and it doesnt have a fear of death as it is a long way off dieing.

well its a logical guess...
