if it is a pocket knife it is a common reproduction from the 1970's. I think they still make them.

if you includes a picture of it, it would help identify it.

If it is a historical knife then it probably was a gift or souvenir for some special event.

a number of the Nazi branches used a 3 pronged "sun symbol" i have only seen it in a few places, mostly it was a rural symbol to represent the farmers or country folk. allegedly based on ancient runic symbols.

Honestly it does not sound like a practical device so i would assume it was simply for show.

does it have any other markings? does the grips have any colorings or symbols?

it is fake.............there is no record to show that adolph ever did that sort of thing and the factories would not have made any as it was not part of war effort
