It's a piece of cake compared to taking care of an old person.

It's a dream job. Lay around all day, then 5 minutes before the husband comes home, wake up and start doing something.

For those of you who think being a mom is easy:

I know for a fact that some of you are not mothers, so you have absolutely no right to say ANYTHING about how easy or hard it is to be a mother.

Being a mother is NOT easy. I had a few different full time jobs before I became a mother, and I can tell you from experience that being a mother is indeed harder than any of those jobs.

That being said, I LOVE being a mother. Some of the sweetest things in life are not easy to come by.

I think everybody interpret or experience it differently and it depends on your circumstances as well. My mom experienced it as sometimes hard and difficult and especially if you are a single parent.

Me sometimes a full time single father and working, it varies week by week.

But I see it as an investment, the more you invest in your children the more you will get out of it, more effort, more in return.

There are days which are hard and tough as the children can have a bad day as well (like you) or they are ill or something happened in family or work. Next to that you have to go early to bed to recover enough energy to stand up early and provide them with all they need. But there are a few things which will make your life easier:
- Patience
- Understanding
- See everything they do as positive, but correct them if wrong
- Think out of the box
- Creative
- Never give up on them

And in return from birth till as far as it goes:
- You get recognition (that they tell you: they miss you, love you... which is for real)
- Intense smile
- You can see back your own youth and try to make it better for them.
- They make you laugh and many other things....

Short said I enjoy it; it's worth living for.....
But I am a dad and try to be a mom ;- ) a women will do it better in general.

being a single mom, working three jobs, with no child support is hard and could be as equal as the war in Iraq. Emotionally it is exhausting. A mom who has a supportive husband and financial help will find being a mom easy. Eithr way, being mom is a lot of responsibility! It's not easy, it's a job. Everyday you have to watch, listen, and direct...you can't just let go anymore, you have to think of someone else. If you aren't prepared to be a mom, you shouldn't. If you are, then embrace those parental instincts, after all, even if you are alone, I find it all worth the trouble. She smiles at me and she looks up to me...even though it is hard to keep it together sometimes. You better be emotionally right.

That's a difficult question to answer. Being a mom is an experience. You can't fully understand it until you're there. I love being a mom, but it's not easy.

As far as being a full time mom goes, I enjoy it, but there are times that I wish I had a career. The important thing is that you have people to help you. Sometimes, you need a break from your baby. It's overwhelming sometimes, so you need to make sure there are people to watch the kids for you when you need some time to yourself.

It depends on the other circumstances in your life. If your husband provides well enough that you can stay home without a lot of financial stress, then you will find that it can be a wonderful almost idyllic existance. Not always easy, but amazingly rewarding

If you don't have the support, then the other stress in your life will make it a difficult time.

When I lived in CA, my wife stayed home with my oldest for two years and considers that time the most idyllic that she ever had. We had a second when I moved to FL and other than the financial stress from the difference in salaries she is still home with both of them and loving it.

Days like today are VERY PAINFUL!!! My 7 month old has been screaming all day while my husband plays a leisurely game of golf, and my 6 and 3 year old sons are fighting like pit bulls. But USUALLY it is such a wonderful, precious experience that is more than worth the hard work!!!

Hard Job but EXTREMELY worth it. You get to see ALL the fun stuff especially if their still young. I've been a stay at home mom for 2 years now. I think it would be harder for me to have a another job and be away from my little one all day!

That is a tricky questions. Being a mom is like anything else really. You have your good days and you have your bad days. Some days feel like a walk in the park, other days...not so much.
