You take care of what you CAN take care of and don't sweat the small stuff.

i am one to be talking because i have a management job and go to school full time and i am a single parent. I can obviously not take my own advice but really i cant do anything different because i have to support my kids BUT the most important thing is family...kids. After 25 years of pooring your heart and soul into work all you get is a going away cake and its over. After 18 years of pooring your heart and soul into your kids...you get memories, love, happier, healthier kids....more. these things last a life time. This does not mean give up a career completely for kids because you have to be happy yourself to be happy with others. Just distribute your heart and soul appropriately...:)

I think delegation is the answer. You can't do everything yourself all the time - so delegate. Housework for example - get a cleaner once or twice a week - draw up a plan of action with your partner on who does what. I agree with the person who said that it's about priorities. Decide on the things you feel you really have to do yourself - the rest - delegate.

It is called having your priorities right. If you have them right at home, then you should be able to have them right at work. The balance needs to be at home first. Plus you also have to have a supportive wife who is in agreement with your decisions that you make.

Try not not to be superwomen/man. Put your priorities in order and see what maters most to you, there is nothing wrong in doing both. You can Do it!
