I do believe that Jade Goody and co are clearly bullying. It is also my opinion that Jade is not necessarily displaying blatant racism, however, I personally believe that she is portraying the resentment for the large amount of foreigners who have come to Britain. That is to say, a vast majority of British people feel that they have lost their British identity which has become embroiled in the over-whelming political correctness, and all too lax immigration laws. Fear has been spread due to the controversial actions of the minority of 'muslims' who have been in the media over the last few years. It would seem that diversity does not work, and this has been proved through the polarisation of communities throughout our country.
It is the aforementioned issues that need to be addressed, but Jade Goody and co are simply not the candidates to bring these delicate matters to the fore.
I would like to make it clear that I am most certainly not racist. However, I do feel strongly about the issues that I have mentioned.

I think you are right a lot of British people feel we are not just losing our identity, but its being imposed on us by political correctness and we are becoming 2nd class citizens in our own country. This has nothing to do with racism, but more to do with government policy's, and not just the present government, but previous ones too. We British are a proud race, we are proud of our history and what we have achieved (OK some of it we should be ashamed of) but no other country's people are expected to be so obliging and considerate as us Brits, so maybe Jade is just saying what a lot of us feel And for sure she is not the right person to do this, but on the other hand, who else is brave or dumb enough to stand up and say what a lot of us feel ! Lets face it if jade has lost work and money because of what she has said, then no one else is going to be brave enough to stand up and speak out for the brits of this country

I am in the US (insomniac!) and I don't believe we get the show. But I have read a lot about it on the internet.

We in the US also face issues about immigrants who have not "assimilated" - some of it is bigotry, but some of it is concern that our national identity and character - which many Americans believe is chosen, rather than genetic (anyone can become an American, they say) - are being lost.

So while I haven't seen the show, I can agree with you to the extent that just because some people who believe something do so for bigoted reasons does not mean that everyone sharing the concern is a bigot.

What I find most interesting is that the people in the house will not know of the controversy until they leave. "Reality TV" is strange!

I don't agree with you- I think that the media has a lot to answer for in all of this, through sensationalised press coverage they have spread fear and ignorance across the country- and Jade and co are merely the personification of this.
And like many things, this issue has been blown out of all proportion and people are hysterical about it.

Ok i like the way you compared them..ok so lets see.. -First off, it is because of you all that I listened to Big L in the first place so I should say, thank you. They are easy to compare because they both have two cd's: Big l only had one while he was alive, the other was posthumous,it wasn't even done when he died. Big L made the song Ebonics and it is amazing lol. That song though made me think of a song that Lupe Fiasco made, which is also dedicated to a certain topic: Ebonics vs Coulda been Ebonics was a big success for him,and this song introduced him to a lot of people.Lupe wasn't noticed till he appeared on "Touch the sky" with Kanye west...The wordplay in ebonics is better too...Big L wins this one Lupe Fiasco makes a cd full of stories. They paint pictures in my mind for me. Big L made maybe two or three songs like that but brought the lyrics to them no doubt: its not necessary to have a cd full of stories,is it? Big L has the same style throughout all his work!!! He says the same thing over and over. ("Harlem" "F*ck Ho*s" "139") and etc.He spits the same topics over different beats: But rap is not about characters, every rapper has his own style in rapping. He has no classic album to me : sorry but i consider lifestylez ov da poor & dangerous one of the top 5 albums of all time. OUTSIDE OF YOU ALL, I have never heard anyone say, "Big L is great." I think he gets so much praise because of you know what (I dont even have to say it): Not sure what your sayin, cuz he is dead? Well u dont know if he would've been more successful if he didn't die.
