Note: Free and over the Net downloadable softwares are virus themselves, and crashes or messes up with most PC's, while Norton or McAfee costs more than 2000 Rs in the retail market. There is no economically priced product in the Indian market.

you could try quickheal (quickheal.co.in), it works well and it might just fit your budget. It has all the features that mcafee, norton etc will give but at half the cost AND it's 100% Made In India. However, for using its recovery disk you will have to have original os license.

Why will one go on to buy anti-viruses, when there are so many free ones available that are effective? And if at all someone will buy, then why won't he invest a bit more money to get sure-shot virus protection like Kaspersky or BitDefender? Unless your anti-virus is sort of super-effective, it is hard to gain market share.
