Hi,
Yesterday i woke up to find i have this bump on the roof of my mouth. It is very sore and is making it very difficult to swallow food. Has anyone ever come across anything like this if so what was it? How did you get rid of it? have not had anything like this but have an idea as to what it could be?

MIght be a trauma on your palate. Is possible coz of anything like brushing, hot or hard foods. cant come to a conclusion with the details provided. Maybe if you can provide more details. and a pic can do wonders.

it is difficult to say, based on your description, whether any significant changes are taking place in your mouth. You may want to see an oral pathologist but it's probably nothing to worry about...could have been caused by eating some spicy or hot food. Its always best to have a doctor, or perhaps in your case, a dentist to take a look at it, just to be sure and especially give you piece of mind.

Are you a (heavy) smoker?

A mouth cancer lump (or cyst) would grow bigger with time. Give it three weeks and see. If still there or you are still worried you should see your dentist.

check out this link that talk about the subject:, hope that helped, good luck!

It sounds like an abcess. THis could be the result of a very infected tooth, one that will probably require a root canal. The dentist will give you a prescription for some penicillin, and in a week or so you will have to go back for appointment number one of your root canal. This is the appointment where he will remove the nerve from the inside of your tooth, and place some disinfectant inside and seal it with a temporary filling. On the next appt., you will recieve a permanent filling, and the tooth's outer sheel will be intact, however the living nerve will be gone. If you don't get this treated, it can infect surrouding teeth. In the worst case scenario, what you are describing could be a cancerous tumour. Whatever the case, you need to go to the dentist, or your in for a whole lot of headache & not to mention the stress of knowing the tooth is infected.

What does it look like?
Did you eat something hot last night? REALLY hot?
Maybe it's a boil. I ate something way too hot a few months ago, and burnt the roof of my mouth. The next morning I woke up with a boil. Hurt like the dickens, but then I acidentally popped it, and it hurt a lot more for a few days. Then it was gone. Your mouth is the fastest healing part of your body.
If you don't know what it is, and it hurts and you are having trouble swallowing, I'd call your doctor. Let them look at it and tell you what to do.
Best of luck to ya!

lol I'm sorry, but I just had to say this. Your vagina is NOT your entire area down there. Your vagina is inside of you. The outside is called the vulva. No one grows hair inside their vagina. There are lotions you can buy that help get rid of them quickly. You can also take a hot washcloth and lay it over the area. To keep razor bumps from forming you need to shave correctly. Use a new razor every time. Venus ones are the best, especially the purple one. Shave at the end of your shower so your hair is softened by the hot water and steam. Shave in a downward direction, not against the way your hair grows. And use lots of shaving cream/lotion. After shaving don't use anything like perfumes, lotion, alcohols, deodorants, etc. around there. They will only irritate you more. <3

It could just be something you ate. Try a rinse of 1/2 water and 1/2 peroxide.

there's really 2 likely possibilities.

1) you have an abscess from a tooth with a huge cavity in it.
2) you have a clogged up minor salivary gland.

both are very treatable by your dentist.

as with anything dental, there are myriad possibilites. always see a dentist for anything. a forum will help with nothing. someone actually has to look in your mouth to diagnose what is going on and prescribe treatment for you.
