what is the reason that Plasma screens tend to have a more focused picture then LCD screens?

I think you may be seeing LCD screen lag. The LCD crystals take a bit long to respond to scene changes versus plasma so fast moving scenes look blurred when compared to plasma. The more expensive and better made LCD TV's have much less of this screen lag.
