I am not sure it can ever be said. Natural death at age 95 can be attributed to specific causes, such as pneumonia, stroke, or as often the case, heart failure with secondary contributing conditions.

Bodies begin to fail at different rates for a number of reasons. A person aged 70 and a person aged 80 could well be in near identical condition. I know some 90 year olds who are "younger" than some 70 year olds, so age is not strictly a defining factor.

But practically speaking, I would feel silly saying someone died of old age if they were less than their mid-80's

It can't really be said when you can "die of old age". Someone who is 80, 90 years old can die from "old age" but they can also die from other things such as cancer, aids, diabities, heart attack, etc. If your heart simply stops, that is usually when it is determined that you die from old age, usually this happens between the ages of 70-100+.

It also depends on the persons heath..

For example, a person suffering from obesity has a shorter life span than a person who is of normal weight. If a person suffering from obesity dies from heart problems at the age of 50, they could be considered dieing of oldage because their life is cut short from the obesity.

Nice question!! I'd say 60+ ... well maybe 65+ because at 65 you are considered a "senior citizen".
Where ever you live, look up the life expectancy for your area, and then over that would be considered "old age"

60 would be the typical...but really, even kids at the age of 9 die of "old age" or, rather, their medical condition causing them to age much faster.

I think you have to be about 90 years old to die strictly of old age.

Well first off, you have to be dead.

Anyways, I think it is just another way of saying that you died of natural causes cause you are elderly. Your body just gave out.

But then, that raises another question, doesn't it? Like, how elder is elderly?
