Definitely at least five hours. But at least a few sessions. It's detailed and quite big so you'll have to do basic form, shading and touch up. You probably wouldn't do that in one sitting. Well, I wouldn't and I don't think your tattoo artist would advise it, but who knows? I'd be talkin to your artist for a more concise answer to this one :p

i think it would take a good few hours prob 4 or more. there is a lot of detail in this tattoo with all the scales etc. some tattoo artists prefer to do it all in one sitting where as some will do all the outline and finish it off at a second sitting.

That tattoo would probably need to be done in several sessions, guessing from the size and detail of it. Your tattoo artist is really the one who can answer the question though.

Well, you would probably be better off showing the artist that you want to do it. The more experience they have especially with black and grey whitch some artists are more proficient at than color and vice versa, the time could be reduced and you'd be likely to get your money's worth. There's detail and shading, and the design itself as well as the location on the body are all things to consider when estimating time and price. Look at possibly several hours at $150 an hour I'd guess.

even tho the tattoo itself is not abnormally huge there are a lot of small lines in it. if i had to guess i would say it would take somewhere around 10 hours or so maybe more maybe less depending on the speed of the artist.

Looking at the picture I'd have to say at lest 4-5 hours there is a lot of detail in it, I have one on my back that is about the same size of a Scottish flag that has a lion ripping through it (vary detailed)...It took 5 hours to do
