According to the Bhagavad-Gita, God's transcendental form is that of a person, not an ape. We can resemble an ape, but we were not created in the image of an ape. We were created in the image of God. A hyena resembles a dog, but are they the same?

Gods image: It could mean God looked like a man or he might have been an alien that looks human or with human traits.
In those days if an alien spaceship came down and someone came out and said they were god, those people would believe it, hence: they flew away in chariots of fire.

I believe that this concept refers to an image of the things we can't see of our person, though our gifts of this 'image are but a speck compared to the depth of God's splendor. More specifically, I am talking about emotions, ego and other personality and intelligence traits.

because it is our personalities that are created in God's image. since we are mortal, that image is flawed. God is all good but we cannot fool him. unlike us, we have a certain quality that outshines the rest of our personalities. each personality is like God's, except that it isn't perfect.

Kinda conceited of you to think you physically look like God, eh?

What is God's image? John 4:24 states that God is spirit. So, in spirit - we were created in him - not in a physically manifested form.

We are not in God's image, but the beauty and the goodness hidden to our souls more likely to look like God's beauty.
Its wrong to understand this sentence "look like God's image"

Lol! I think usually the verse that mentions God creating man in his image isn't taken as literal; rather, it's seen as figuarative, as in, our souls and personalities are made in his image.
