Um... maybe because she had a good reason for not being able to be there?
Judges are very rarely easy on the mother, even when she is awarded full custody. It may be about time to lighten the negativity against Mom. If a father deserves custody, I hope a judge will grant it. I have never met a "nice" judge at work, though.

Many judges, even in modern society, are dreadfully old fashioned and falsely think women are better parents than men. Of course if you and I expressed such knuckle dragging opines we would be remanded to attend sensitivity classes.

male judges tend to be eaiser on women because they love their mothers.. woman police and judges have less tolence for women and their stunts

Umm. I've never seen that happen. Normally, if you don't show for court, it doesn't look good for you.
