They may have been recently taped when you bought him, and they removed the tape for selling him. After taping, they will stay up a few days, then flop back down in some puppies, and need to be retaped. Here is a good link to show you how to tape, and when> http://glassyorkies.homestead.com/care.html#anchor_13112

They have probably been taped before, and they have not yet been "trained" to stand. The cartilage in the ear has to harden before if can support the puppy's ear, and it may have not hardened enough yet. All you have to do to tape the ears is put about 3 layers of medical tape all around the ear. Leave it for a few days and then remove, if the ears fall again tape them again. It may take a month or two to get them to stand well.

This is why you should buy from a reputable breeder! A pet shop ceases to care about your puppy as soon as they get cash in hand, but breeders need to know any problems with their pups, so future breedings can be prevented. The puppy mill your dog was most likely shipped from taped his ears with sticks for show at the pet shop. Ask your vet how this can now be corrected.

He could well be teething, but as the previous poster said, PLEASE do not buy another puppy from a pet shop. The type of breeder who will sell their puppies to a 3rd party without having an idea where they will end up, is not a breeder who is likely to care about breeding quality, healthy puppies.

i read in a book about chihuahuas that their ears do that while they are teething, and that generally they stay up by the time they are 6 mos. old. i would assume it goes for all puppies.

breed standard calls for the ears to be erect. and your pup depending on age, may just be going through and ear phase and they may stand back up again. i'm not going to go into detail as to why you should have not gotten a pup from a petstore, but your pet may not be the best of quality. they are known for not conforming to standard and have health issues. i would take him to your vet immediatly for a check over. either way, ears up or not, love him and take proper care of him. and if you get another pet, please find a reputable breeder where you can see at least one parent and where the pup was raised. good luck to you and the pup.

They are just now starting to stay up more than down.
