A friend of mine brought her neighbor over recently to visit and we all started talking. Now this was the first time I had met her neighbor keep this in mind. Anyways the woman goes on to tell me (a perfect stranger!) about ALL of her medical conditions. Epilepsy, diabetes, bipolar, you name it she has it. Plus my friend tells me she is a drug addict. Long story short the woman had 6 children (three were taken by the state). Anyways she was telling me about how wonderful her six year old son is while she's having a seizure. Now me and my friend are arguing about her. I say, knowing she had all these terrible diseases/conditions and still having children is irresponsible and selfish. She says it's not. She says people have mistakes, I say endangering and traumatizing SIX innocent children is no mistake. I know she didn't ask for any of the sickness but still... In your opinion who is right?

Excuse the bad grammer and spelling. I wrote this kind of angry.

And yes, she is on state help and in fact lives in state housing. They are very small dingy apartments.

Just to make myself clear, it's not just one thing. From her own mouth I heard maybe a dozen ailments, both physical and mental. She's on things ranging from seizure meds to anti-psycotic medication. (Once again straight from her own mouth) This was all seconded by my friend who has seen the medications. My point was this, she knew she had all these different things wrong with her and yet she still kept knocking out babies. To know that the first thing you have to teach your child is how to dial 911 or how to hide medications so mommy won't overdose is just cruel. My friends opinion was that it doesn't matter, none of the many things she has wrong with her matter. Just looking for some opinions. Oh and were not really "fighting", just having a disagreement.

One more detail to note. My friend no longer has anything to do with this woman. She was on the recieving end of her vindictive lies. So now she stays far away from her.

I think it is so sad that she has had children. She is certainly on some sort of disability and other state assistance. But that is the least of my worries--those kids are doomed to a sad life. This woman should have been spayed after she had the first kid and couldn't care for him. Some will scream "that's eugenics!" So it is and it should be used very carefully, but society must consider the welfare of its children and those born to mothers with serious mental illnesses and/or drug addiction don't stand a chance of having a stable life.
By the way, her telling you all of her problems without even knowing you is a classic sign that she is unstable and has no boundaries.

I have seizures too and i have a son. I don't think it's selfish to have a kid because of a illness. My son doesn't have seizures hes perfectly fine, plus they have medicine for that. One the other hand she got them taken away from the state which is selfish. If she can't take care of then she shouldn't have kids, but not cause of an illness. Just because the parent has it doesn't mean the kid will get it.

I can`t say whom is right or whom is wrong...There is something major wrong with this woman and no she does not need any kids with all of those drugs she is taking...Your friend must feel sorry for this woman....but, she needs another friend so, she chose a drug addict...

I agree, I don't think anyone should judge anyone like that. You've only met her once, and your friend "says" she's a drug addict. I'd like to see if that was true myself before I say anything. And Sometimes illnesses come later in life, like cancer, it could be like that.

I have a question for you too.

What was the reason for her coming to your house in the first place? were you and your friend bored?

having them taken is irresponsible and all that but, with the sickness no some of the best mothers have been sickly and the children never felt any less to a child who had a healthy parent

I say she's in it for state funding....more kids more money.

Sorry- didn't answer your question. I agree with you; problems can begat problems - she is a prime example. Twice is a mistake, half a dozen is an excuse.

6 kids with a laundry list of ailments? i hope those poor kids don't end up with the same problems. Everyone wants to have kids, and who are we to judge who is worthy and who isn't...

That said...I don't think I would have had 6.

You are right.
Your friends' neighbor is a vile, psychic vampire.
Your friend is her prey.
I would distance both of them.
