All of a sudden ion the last week he has peed like he is marking his territory. Nothing has changed. The same cat and other dogs have been here longer then he was. He also gets regular potty breaks during the day. Tonight we came home and he had peed on the couch, all the way throught the cushions. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like a urinary tract infection. You need to take him to the vet.

is he neutered? if not start there. it may not cure it, but it will help. and plus it's a benefit to his health and safety. start with the neuter and see where that gets you, if it doesn't solve the problem then you will have to retrain him using a crate would be the best method. also take him to the vet first and have the vet check to see if there's a medical reason, if not, schedule a neuter. if there is one then cure the medical problem then schedule a neuter.

if he's neutered, then start at the vet and make sure there's not a bladder infection. and ask your vet where to go from there. good luck.

I have a female pit that is the same age, that also just seems to have forgotten her potty training. I had to resort to kenneling her when Im not home. Im thinking there is something that scares her when Im gone- she is otherwise healthy and spayed as well. The "accidents" have stopped now that she is kenneled. If you are sure he is not sick in some way, I would go back to the kennel thing. Worked for me. Good luck.

Maybe there are problems in the house with the other animals when you are not home, maybe something really scared him or maybe he has a kidney or bladder infection. I suggest giving you vet a call.

in the beginning, that's CHIHUAHUA. 2d of all, he's a domestic dog. actual, how previous is he? Thirdly, you're crating equipment is misguided, incorrect, incorrect. the finished concept of a crate is for it to be purely super sufficient to your canine to stand, lay down, and turn around in. it is it. in any different case, he won't see it as his "den" and he will circulate potty in it besides. pointless. Get a smaller crate. Secondly, make beneficial that's heat in there. Blankets and/or a *canine risk-free* (won't be in a position to tension that sufficient) heating pad might desire to be in there. you could attempt leaving a radio taking part in softly close to the crate. If he's whining, do not pay interest to him. he will think of you're rewarding his habit. Please examine some books and do extra learn.....

My guess is a female in the neighborhood is in heat, and he is not neutered, so his hormones woke up.

Get him neutered, or he may never stop peeing.

Good luck!
