I used periwinkle (kind of a pale blue-ish purple) and yellow. I also did a casual wedding in March a few years ago and it turned out beautiful. E-mail me if you want some pics, I'd be happy to send you some.

I am getting married next April and am a Wedding Consultant trainee and one misconception many have is that you must stay in the same color category, to an extent yes. I personally choose a garden theme and my colors are all over the board (white, eggshell, lilac, and pink mostly) Styles and traditions have changed, even in the wedding aspect. Planners believe that if you have a theme, any colors wanted should be used, and can very much compliment one another. I think like another said, other shades of lavender, or go for another shade of purple all together like Lilac (yes different shade, lol) . Just go with a lighter, spring like color, pastels are perfect for spring.

The most common color I have seen with lavender/light purple is a light or sage green color. But really you could do anything just as long as the color is different enough that you can tell the difference. Two pieces of advice: 1) Stay in the light/pastel pallet and 2) Be careful of the shade. Sometimes lavender can appear gray from a distance.

First of all, congratulations!
I think lavender is a beautiful choice/color. How about various shades of purple? You could start with lavender and progress to a deeper purple, depending on the number of bridesmaids. Or, let's say you have just a maid of honor and 2 other attendants, let the maid of honor wear the lavender and the other 2 girls wear the same deeper purple shade.
For the bride groom and his men, they could either wear grey suits or grey morning coats ("morning" is just a name, not meaning to be used just for morning ceremonies) instead of the traditional, more formal black tuxedos. Their shirts could be all the same lavender shade for consistency (would be hard to find various shades of purples in dress shirts) with grey ties or bow ties.
What a soft, yet striking, wedding party you'll have!
I'll pray for good weather! (How about lavender skies?!)

you can use a darker colour of lavander a more rich colour to make the lavander stand out more, use some accents of white as well in the flowers and center pecies. Lavander is a very pretty colour but getting colours that match that is going to be hard, you dont want it to clash, so you need to stay in that same colour code of purple, either go lighter or darker. You can also rich it up with silver, which will make it really elagant.

March is the birth month of Pisces, whose color is lavendar, so your primary color choice is perfect!
You may use several colors with lavendar as follows:
Lavender is a muted purple which is comprised of red and blue.
A muted red is pink, and a muted blue is baby blue.
The opposite of red on the color wheel is yellow, and the opposite of blue on the color wheel is orange.
A muted yellow is pastel yellow, and a muted orange is peach.
In nature, the greatest color coordinator, lavendar flowers are often a blend of both lavendar and baby blue-- absolutely gorgeous!

Either go for the bold look and choose silver or go with a pale, fruity color to even out the "flavor" of the lavender.

Yellow comes in so many shades, also a pastel or creamy green. If possible have a color draping by Mary Kay or some other beauty type consultant. good luck and God bless your marriage.
