I don't mean to sound arrogant at all. It is through the grace of Jesus Christ alone, but I will say that answered prayer and even miracles are prevalent in my life as a follower of Christ.

I don't believe in luck, but I do believe in having God's favor.

I am not an overly religious person, but when my best friend found out 5 months ago her cancer was back, I prayed for God to send her an angel to help her. When I got to the cancer clinic, there was her angel, her pastor's wife, helping her to calm down. My best friend died 1/14/07 of Ovarian Cancer. She went peacefully, another prayer I requested of God. I was answered twice and am forever grateful to God and the angels he sent forth to help her.

The same one I gave in the last question about answered prayers. Not a Christian, still had an answered prayer. Strange how God doesn't discriminate...

I can't prove it, but I was getting a big head and I prayed that it be deflated a bit. That night I had a dream that I was walking through the mall with my little brother. He was only 2 months old, but he could walk and talk and he was the awesomest little dude around.

I wanted to show him off to people, how he was so much better than their kid. They started gathering around wanting to see him, and he got scared and ran away. I couldn't find him anymore. I felt as though I'd let my parents down because they were old and I was the only one who could really keep an eye on this special little guy.

When I woke up I realized that I was both myself and this little kid. This little kid was the caring, bright, intelligent person inside myself, but if I went around trying to show him off like some sort of sideshow I would lose him forever and all that would be left is the person I don't want to be.

I believe in God, I just don't label myself a Christian. I believe in a lot of things that would be considered against the teachings of the Bible, and don't believe in a lot of the things that are part of mainstream Christianity.

I'm a neo-pagan and I've prayed ever since I can remember. Yes, they are answered. I've prayed for protection, patience, understanding, guidance, and for a partner (my hubby). But the answers aren't always what I want. Sometimes the answer is "No, you can do that by yourself". Or sometimes I simply don't know what's best for me. I trust my deities. I set aside time twice every day for prayer and meditation. I seldom ask for things any more though. I find that if I trust in Them, they will watch over me and my needs are taken care of.

I am a Hindu and just 21 years old, but trust me, I have seen miracles too, when I start thinking about them I just can't reach to any particular conclusion, sometimes I feel like it's my luck or perhaps even just a coincidence, but who is responsible for giving us that slight luck that I need to get out of danger ? I don't do too much praying and stuffs but when I'm in danger I just keep visualizing the images of the God's and Godessess I worship and also recall their names on whom I have my faith in and after that there's always a drastic turn of events and I'm spared. :)

There are times when me and people I know, get whatever we want. For example, I might just wish that I had fish for dinner, but there's no fish at home. Someone will just bring it, even though no one had a clue what I wished.

I was about to step out of my house to walk to the bus stop (I had an exam) and it started raining very very heavily. I just prayed, let me reach the bus stop dry (the rain in our place is so heavy that umbrellas/ raincoats don't shield you enough). By the time I wore my shoes and stepped out, it stopped raining. It started raining again once I sat in the bus.

There are many, many such examples.

No when I was christian, I went through a horrible time in my life and I prayed day and night for it to end, but every time I prayed it only got worse. Then I changed my beliefs and my life has never been better. I'm not saying god doesn't exist or doesn't care, I just feel that chrisianity just wasn't the path that I was meant to travel. ^_^

i quote andrew
''Have you ever wondered why God didn't want Adam to eat from the tree of knowledge? I have always wondered... and now I see that it is an outstanding allegory for life.

Adam had everything he could ever want in that garden, anything except the fruit from the tree of knowledge. But he was tempted by a woman to eat. Upon eating of the fruit, they realized they were naked. Then they were banished from paradise and sent to work the fields themselves, a hard life of toil and sweat. The life they lived was now in separation from God.

Belief in the omnipotent and omnipresent has many appealing characteristics. The possibilities seem endless, like ANYTHING could happen. You feel as though you could eat of any fruit you so desire to attain fulfillment, except in a tempting life of "sin" and knowledge. Upon growing up, one is endowed with a mind of his own. He/she begins to question, he/she begins to reason, he/she begins a journey to find the TRUTH. Upon feasting on this knowledge, I have come to the conclusion that this omnipotent/omnipresent being does not exist. I have been shed of my spiritual clothing. The knowledge of this has banished me from his comforting presence in my heart, which had given me hope and comfort as a child, with the understanding that he would help me and love me if I was good. Now that I face the reality of separation from the paradise of believing you can obtain the impossible. I am faced with reality. My life will now be in my own hands, which is a lot harder than just having it given to you, like in paradise. You must toil and sweat to make your own fate.

So why would God not want you to eat of the tree? Upon eating of the tree he no longer exists in your heart. Knowledge is Satan.

Faith, even in something that isn't there, is a comforting thing that most people need. Life is hard knowing what you see is what you get. However, I am strong and am glad my fate rests in my hands.''

I prayed to my christmas cactus that the world would NOT stop rotating and lo... she answered my prayer with a resounding "YES!"

so all of your jesus miracles and answered prayers... did you ever kill children like that prophet in the OT with the bears?

2Ki 2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

my cactus pricked someone once that i didn't like... oh, my OTHER cactus, i have 2 and the other one has prickly bits and someone i didn't like was here and got close to the cactus and i prayed that he would smite this person and lo... the person was smote there and then!

did jesus ever turn your water to wine? or cure someone you know? and how do you know it was jesus? curious... my cactii are doing a nice job of keeping me comfortable... i got a raise this year when i got back to work... i thank christmas cactus for that one...

I know you all think i'm full of "you know what," but the trouble here is that you can't prove it one way or the other... same goes for your magic prayer answerer...

I believe that miracles happen to those people who have low self-esteem. Most people work for what they get and those who don't and something just flys out of the sky into their lap; then perhaps it was a miracle. Where are the miracles in everyone else's lap? We live on this earth in free will. We can choose good or evil. We pray for some miracles and they never happen. Then sometimes it does. But, was it a miracle??? Or was it just the way things happen? The latter makes more sense.
