Seems like everything got "annointed" back then.
Maybe we just need some more annointing.
If I ever start a new religion, it's gonna include a whole lot of annointing.

Oil (as used in annointing) was a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who is born again, is also annointed, being that they have the Holy Spirit within them. This endwelling of the Holy Spirit did not come about until the day of pentecost after the cross and ressurrection. The oil was the symbol, the endwelling of the Holy Spirit the reality.
