About 2 years ago I went to a friends house, there were 4 houses on 1 lot 2 in the front and 2 in the back, one was sort of a halfway house where the lady let a lot of drug addicts stay, my friend was dating the owner of all 4 houses, I recall beautiful puppies being born to a dog from the halfway house, I went to visit my friend a couple of times and saw the puppies growing, there was only 3 of them. At about 6 weeks I no longer saw them there, my friend told me one of the guys at the halfway house which had bumed cigarrettes off us, had killed all the puppies with a large kitchen knife for fun.

I felt like reporting the incident but didnt know how to go about it ,and didnt want my friend to think I was a rat.

What would you have done.

I am sorry but I can not answer what I would have done because I was not there. It is too late to worry about what if or I should have and it was too long ago to do anything now. Most will tell you they would have reported it if they were you but no one can answer that question until they are in the same situation and facing the same dilema. The best you can do is if you are ever faced with a difficult decision is to vow to yourself to do what is best for the situation and not for yourself. In the mean time let it go and forgive yourself. No one is perfect and everyone has bad judgement sometimes.

I would have suggested your friend report it not you since you didn't witness the incident and she knew more about it.

So sad really. A town near the city I live in, there's this huge fight going on about how to punish these two boys who tied a dog up and towed it from the back of their truck basically torturing the poor thing till it's death.
It's so pathetic how someone could do that to an animal.

I would have reported his a** in a heartbeat why should an innocent animal suffer because some sicko wanted to get cheap thrills bulling defenseless creatures and if you had reported it when-it happened friend thinking you were a rat or not would your conscience be bothering you now?

You can anonymously report any crime. The ASPCA. Human Society, local Animal Shelter, even the local police department. Crimes like this should always be reported... let this be a lesson. No crime such as animal abuse should go unpunished. Never turn a blind eye again.... and if your friend thinks your a rat for reporting it, then he is no friend.... it's totally inhumane of him to even THINK you are a rat for reporting it.

I would have reported it right away. People can't go around killing animals for fun. they need to be punished. if he killed humans would you have reported that? Animals can't speak for themselves so we have to do our part to help them in anyway we can. and not worry if some crack head thinks ur a rat.
How do you think those puppies must have felt. and now that sick F*%K is walking the streets.
Nice One.

Since the incident still bothers you, you should have definitely reported it...I could imagine that you could call the SPCA as an anonymous caller?

I would have reported it. You were a bigger rat because you did nothing.
