Jesus told the woman at the well who was not married, but had "known" many men, that she had "many husbands."

She said to him, "I perceive that you are a Prophet!" She was not married in the legal sense of the word, according to laws of the land, but in the eyes of the Heavenly Kingdom... Well, Jesus said it, I didn't. That being said...Don't just bed the woman that you want to marry so as to trap her. It doesn't work that way. Sex before marriage is SIN, Called fornication and this comes with consequences. It is far better to just wait on the Lord's timing and marry according to the laws of the land and then have sex be a blessing/a gift which God has given in marriage.

True, marriage (The ceremonial pledging of each person to the other until death does them part) is suppose to come first, but if people wish to jump the gun, put the cart before the horse, and have sex before the actual pledge and oath before witnesses, then God's advice would be to admit that you have allowed yourself to BECOME ONE with each other and 1 Either get married and make good on your doings or repent and live with the consequences of your actions and "GO AND SIN NO MORE!"

Staying with someone (other than your kin) for life...isn't that marriage? And saying something like "God believe" would imply that God Does not Know. God Knows everything. No, but His Law is that sex is a part of an institution we call "marriage" (latinos might call it casamiento), that begins with a witnessed vow to dedicate onself to that union. This union was designed to protect society and foster "moral values". Look at the havoc of single-parenting, fornication- man have abided to his/her most carnal instincts at the cost of their integrity and societal functionality.

Public commitment (a marriage ceremony) is the beginning of a marriage. The sex is supposed to come after. And when God blesses a marriage, the sex is just awesome.

Marriage is not a human institution. That was God's doing.

And the two are united into one. Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together. – Mark 10:8

If Man brought in marriage, then how can Adam & Eve be husband & wife, It amazes me how people try to twist scriptures & Ideals around thinking that God don't have someone out there that can see a twisted question, Therefore Marriage is From God & not from man.

I think it can go either way, despite what all the hardliners say.

I find it hard to believe the young sexy kids in Song of Solomon were married,

and in biblical days, they did it before and after, just like they do now, and will do in the future,

you can't change the nature of the human animal to procreate,

marriage is a sex law and a ritual, but I have a hard time believing it's made that big a deal of since basically almost everyone who has ever lived did it before marriage.

Even those who spout out against "fornication" have done it before marriage and they know it.

It's all about not wanting teens to have sex, in actuality.

I think you can badmouth promiscuity far more, since it is dangerous, puts you in actual life harming situations, and disease as well, also societal consequences.
--But that has nothing to do with having it with someone you truly care for if you just can't wait.

No marriage was instituted by God
"for this reason a man shall leave his mother and father and cleave to His wife"

That cleave is the marriage part mate.

and let no man separate what God has joined together.

look up in first three chapters of genesis.

In the garden of Eden, the Bible says that God brought Eve to Adam, when he awoke from his sleep. God gave Eve away at her wedding. Marriage was first and then came sex....not the reverse.

I think love is the beginning....

reaching out, reacting and reciprocation, both mentally, intellectually, spiritually and sexually

two people agree on many things, and marraige can be defined by them, no need for officiating or authority/approval

started without 'god', can be ended without 'god' and priests

it's a wonderful experience, defined as you wish

God instituted marriage in the Garden of Eden. So marriage is first.

God does not care who we have sex with - but he does care about who we love. Love is energy, money does not buy and sex does not guarantee it. At the core of a vast diversity of great spiritual traditions is the hidden message that spirituality is in essence erotic, and sexuality is in essence spiritual. These universal truths teach us that we cannot realize the full potential of sexual love and ecstasy without plumbing the spiritual depths of our erotic nature. In the deepest and fullest of possibilities, our sexuality is everything that we are or could become.
