My heart goes out to you and your family. It's sounds like your dog was very special. The pain of losing them goes deep. Do me a favor and don't try to replace her right away. The new dog would have a hard time trying to live up to the dog that passed away. You will always be comparing them. My springer spaniel died five years ago and every time I see a springer it makes me want another one. I know that I'm not ready yet. Although I do still have two dogs that I had when Casey died. Look to buy something special in memory of her. I was lucky and found a solid teal wood carving of a dog that looked exactly like mine. It is a full size replica that sits by my fireplace. It's okay to cry for your loss. After 13 years she deserves that. Take Care

First i am sorry for your lost it is never easy. Secondly time i am affraid is the only thing you can do. It is never easy losing a much loved family member. It is only natural to be upset and it is important not to bottle it up if it helps talk to you family or freinds because it is at times like this that you need them. Don't rush out and get another dog as it want help a new dog should always come in to a happy settled home not one so full of sadness. In time you may want to get another but you have to feel ready for it . The pain will get easier with time and you will be able to recall the happy memories you have off you dog.

I am so sorry u lost ur beloved dog. I too have lost my pet dogs in the past, so I understand how bad u all feel. They are like a family member and the grief is the same. I hope that when we pass on, we will be reunited with our most faithful companions. In time, I hope u get another dog that will be with u for another 13 years. God bless.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Maybe this poem will help you.
Your Pets In Heaven
by Ken D. Conover
To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.
For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.
For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.
I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.
Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures.
I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever.
You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Sorry buddy, anybody who's had a pet can relate to you. I just had one of my cats put to sleep a month ago, it sucks and it leaves an empty feeling inside for a while. But you will get over it. Your dog had a good life, and she is in a better place. Take comfort in that.

I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds like she had a great, long life with you.
I definitely suggest getting another dog, but not right away. Take the time to mourn and miss her first. Move on when you are ready, don't get a new dog to try and forget about your loss.

I'm so sorry. Run free at the Bridge baby girl. They never live long enough do they? Why can't they be with us forever? I'm so sorry, my heart breaks for you.
Remembering Our Past Pets
We have a secret, you and I that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim in every brook I pass.
and when I call, no one but I can see the bending grass.

oh i am so sorry to hear that..i know the pains you are going through..its hard to let go of a pet you've considered as family..
hey, i just had an idea! why don't you create a website for your dog and put there all of her pictures so wherever you go, you can still remember all the good times you've had..
oh God.. this is making me cry..
