My doctor prescribed glucophage to me to help me lose weight. Has anyone had success with this?

I think the Gluc will allow your cells to process the sugar in your blood. I take a medicine called "METAGLIP" for diabeties. The Gluc helps your cells process the nutrients in your blood stream.

Glucophage is for type 2 diabetes, not for weight loss. The doctor probably wants you to lose some weight to keep yourself from needing insulin injections. Call his nurse or go back to see the doctor to find out if you are a diabetic. You need to know this! And ask for information if you are diabetic. Call the American Diabetic Association. They have a 800 number available.

whatever you do Nutrition is mandatory:
optimum protein,low fat, low sugar, low carbohydrate,low salt nutrition-
for losing weight- replace two meals with the above said nutrition
program and having one meal of your choice, plus water one liter for every 44lbs for desired results. 2to 4kgs per month.and you should do your maintenance so that you wont gain back what you lost.

I dont know about weight loss,I'm type II diabetic and thats what i take to help control blood sugar
