I was driving back to Canada where i live when i got a speeding ticket in Northern California. I later recieved the ticket by mail and sent in by mail my payment by money order. I was going back to California to visit and i could not get through the border because when i tried to cross they said i had not payed my speeding ticket yet. so i wanted to know how i could find out if it was recieved and why it doesnt show up on the computers.

Your copy of the citation should have a number you can call to contact them. Call, and fing out if it was received. If it was ask them to make sure all the powers that be are notified so you may cross the border again. Sometimes, it takes a little time for everything to filter through all the different processes. If you call, it will likely get done quicker.

There should be a phone number on the ticket that you can call and it will look up your records by the ticket number.

If you have no luck checking with courts system, I would try running down with the money order company. Hopefully you still have your receipt.

They should be able to tell if it has been cashed and by who.
