So the main tip given when searching for healthy results is to drink lots and lots of water. I don't disagree, I just have a question. Drinking water is supposed to have many, many benefits, right? So then which is the best, tap or bottled? I normally drink tap water that I put in a filtered container and keep in the fridge, but when I go to the grocery and I see Spring water, and other variations of water....I often stand there wondering which is the best water? Is it left up to taste or does one have more of a benefit over the other?

I prefer bottled water, only because of the taste. Tap water is safe to drink and I don't think there is anything wrong with drinking it. But in my area, the water from the tap tastes like chlorine, so I prefer to drink bottled.

I've seen so many investigative journalists tackle this... when compared, the two are either VERY close to equal or occasionally the tap water is even cleaner. The fact is, we live in a country with clean tap water and we're very lucky for that, not all countries have this privilege and even others that do pay MUCH more than we do per household. To feel that ours isn't good enough and must still be filtered from the tap or that we must stick to bottled is so spoiled, and from everything I've seen and read, totally unnecessary to top it off. If you have funky-tasting tap water, that's one thing, but assuming it's drinkable, save your money for something more deserving.

Tap water is generally better for you, because you know that the water is treated and healthy - federal guidelines and monitoring make it so. Bottled water is often not required to submit to federal testing, and it has been shown that many bottled water brands don't pass minimum standards. Many bottled water brands are simply tap water to begin with. In foreign countries where regulation of water sources are different, or the population has a different stomach microflora, this may not remain accurate though :-)

drinking from tap water aint bad but i suggest in a more safer way that u should heat the tap water instead of using filtered container. I think drinking bottle is better becuase they already kill all the harmful stuff (which u cannot be seen with ur eyes) but heating tap water before drinking is almost the same too.

In my humble opinion, distilled water with a little bit of lemon in it is the best for you. Boiling your water makes it tepid and water from the tap is full of chemicals. Some water supplies include fluoride in their water, but others don't. You would have to check with your water supplier to find our if yours does. However, remember that all tap water contains trace amounts of chemical that may not be harmful to you in small doses, but say ingested over the course of twenty years, may produce numerous medical problems such as arthritis and cancer in your later years. Tap water that is filtered properly should be fine, but remember, just like everything else on the market, not all filters are the same. Again, in my humble opinion, distilled water is the safest and healthiest for you to drink. For all those wondering how much you should drink, take your weight and divide it in half and drink that much water in ounces. For example, if you weigh 180 pounds, divide that in half and you get ninety. You should then drink ninety ounces of water.

If I am out at a gym I will get bottled, if I am at home and I ran out of bottled I will use tap. There is no difference except the taste.

Water is water. One of those high dollar bottled waters that claim to be pure and best tasting is plain ol' tap water from Columbia, SC.

Some bottled water is not filtered. But reverse osmosis water systems and uv water systems are the best.
