So it happens, i'd say more or less, 1-2 times a month. And its been happening for like the last 3-5 years. I cant remember exactly when it started but its not just like a small amount. Its a good amount of blood im wiping of of my butt and its dark. Ive also noticed that I can now kind of tell when im about to go to the bathroom with blood in it because I get exteme pains in my stomache. It almost seems like when a woman is going to get her period and she gets cramps. Im way too frieghtened to see a doctor about it, not to mention I dont have health insurance either. Im 25, if that makes any difference. I dont know what to do, can someone help?

Ok, now bright red blood usually comes from the rectum/sigmoid area (hemmroids, tumors, divirticulitis or colitis). Dark black stools and then its usually from your stomach or duodenum, ulcers, vascular problems, gastritis, tumors. Now Maroon colored stools from the right side of the colon. Again tumors, vasular problems, colitis..................anyway in all these areas you see tumors mentioned and you need to rule these out. A blood work up will tell you if you are anemic from too much loss of blood but your Dr. will probably want to scope you to be sure where the blood is coming from. Its important to be checked. If you have no insurance go to a Community clinic and tell them you are bleeding from your rectum and need to be checked and see when they can get you in. The will most likely use a sliding scale on your charge and equate it to your income. This is serious and needs to be checked. Is there a history of colon cancer in your family? If there is thats another red flag. Find our who and at what age they were diagnosed. Take care and don't mess around. We see young people with big digestive problems.

Go see a doctor immediately!!! If you can't afford to pay then go to the emergency room and request help there. They will either help you or send you to someone who will.

If it's dark blood, and doesn't immediately stain the toilet water red, then it's probably not just a hemorrhoid. Just from my experience, I can tell you it could be an ulcer, a bleeding polyp, or (rare for someone your age) diverticulitis. I was diagnosed with both multiple polyps and diverticulitis at age 38. Bleeding polyps can be removed before they become cancerous (they are generally very slow growing), diverticulitis and ulcers can both be successfully treated with a combination of drugs and changes in diet. No big deal, my doctor and I keep a check on it with regular tests. It has resulted in no major lifestyle changes...

If left untreated, any one of the conditions above can result in death (and let me assure you, it can be a damned hideously painful death from cancer and/or abdominal infection). If you want to be scared of something real, instead of your imagined fears of what you might find, be scared of what you're doing to yourself by letting this condition progress unchecked instead of seeking effective treatment.

If you'd like to see age 35, you'd best make a appointment, go to the emergency room, or find a free clinic damn soon...

You need to go to a doctor. Don't be afraid it could be as simple as hemorrhoids. There are many different reasons for blood in your stool other than colon cancer (if that is your fear). If you don't have medical insurance see if one of your local community hospitals have a program to help with the bill.

You need to be seen sooner than later.

You need to see a doc ASAP. You should not have let this go unchecked for 5 years. Call your doc and ask for an emergency appointment to get this checked out ASAP. Rectal bleeding and blood in stool is not something you should ignore.

Would you rather die in the next 5 years than pay a doctor bill? Make a payment plan, whatever, but get to a doctor. Not your family doctor, a specialist. Go!

I have a suspicion it has something to do with your liver.

DEFINITELY see a doctor. There is never a reason (when blood is coming out of you that isn't a female's menstrual cycle) when you bleed excessively that you shouldn't see a doctor.
