I have had a migraine for two years streight without a lapse, and no doctors have been able to fix me. Most days I am unable to get out of bed. I'm slowly losing more and more hope that I will ever get well. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to cope?

I'm now in the hospital, have been for a couple of days. The drugs are doing nothing, but I'm getting sadder by the minute.

I am getting the best treatment possible, am not really looking for suggestions to treat the migraine. I just want to know how to get through this day.

I am terrified of needles, accupuncture won't work. Also, I am only 13. I can't smoke weed.

Acupuncture works wonders. If nothing else works and you are comfortable with it you could look into medicinal marijuana. Try and keep your spirits up. I am sure you will find something that will work.

*****Okay since you can't stand needles and can't use medicinal marijuana. Have you thought about meditation? It really works wonders. Have they done an MRI on your brain? It could be something pushing on your brain. I know two people that recently had tumors in their brain. One a 6 year old and the other a 30 year old. Both complained of severe headaches.

Have you tried alternative medicine, i.e. acupuncture, reflexology, massage, Tibetan medicine.. stuff like that? I suffer from thyroid disease, sometimes I notice some symptoms (tiredness, weight gain, depression mainly), sometimes not. Herbs prescribed by Tibetan&Chinese medicine specialist helped me a lot. You could always give it a go, speak to your doctor first, they might even be able to guide you to the right person.
I've also noticed yoga improved my condition and I have been practicing ever since I was diagnosed in 2001 and even went on to study yoga and became a yoga teacher. I don't know how well I would be managing my condition without yoga (and daily dose of Thyroxin), but it is worth giving it a try.

Oh Lord can I relate.I suffer terrible migranes. For 3yrs I took norttripyline. We had to take me off it cause I also have HIV and the pills interacted with my HIV meds.So my migranes are back full force.I am now taking about 10 percocet a day till we figure out what I can take.I really want off the narcotics because I'm like a walking zombie.I wish you luck because migranes are so debilitating.

Have you tried any natural therapies. My cousin suffered badly from migraine after the birth of her first child. Certainly not laid up like you, but many days stuck to the bed while the baby went without help until dad came home. She evenually started seeing a Homeopath and a Chiropractor. She still gets them from time to time, but has her life back.

My daughter has had to deal with migraines herself and when they are at their worst, she has had to go to bed in a totally dark room with no light, no noise, and just sleep it off!!
It sometimes took several days!!
She finally got a doctor who could prescribe some medication that helps to keep them from getting so bad!! Try prayer as well!! Sounds corny but it works!!!

For me, it starts with accepting that I won't ever get better.
From there you can start playing games with re-programing your head and finding the meaning of life. One day at a time my friend.

stress in one of the main causes people get headaches, relax...mine usually happen once or twice a year, depending on the pollen level outside and how much stress i'm under or putting on myself, they started in my teens and my hormones were doing all of their weird stuff, hang in there, the more you fret the harder it will be on you, take deep breaths, turn off all the lights, hide under your pillow to block out the world, count slow..it works for me hope it does for you...best of luck i know they're not easy to deal with

I would guess coal miners because they have to breath in all of the dust underground.
