I am not a christian and hope that you will see religion and society in a different angle. An angle where I come from.
You can be a God's servant and the same time you can have worldly pleasures like marriage, family, children and so on. If God wanted everybody to be his servents, he wouldn't have created opposite sex, feelings, and bondings.
Moreover, if you are a God's servant and also a family man, you can teach your children from young age who is God and his way of living. You have immediate followers. They can put in practice your preachings and spread YOUR thoughts.
You will be more close to God once you have a family. You will experience creating life, being responsible for it and go through all the phases where you seek God's help day in and day out.
Being a priest or a family man is something depends on your thinking of how you want to live God's supernatural favour.
God bless you.

Hi James,
You ask an interesting question. I happen to be a Christian man. It is my belief that God does not approve of religion. I know what you are thinking? It just what He has given me from His Word that I am going by.
This to, I believe, you should do as well. I suggest that you confirm yourself in and through the Word of God before you make any decision on your own.
Why did you choose the Catholic religion as your choice? Do you think that this is what God wants from you in these end days we are living in. You are aware that our Lord Jesus Christ will be making His Second Advent very soon?
Remember He is coming with a rod of chastisement in His hand and the first that He will address are the false teachers/preachers. I can say from experience that this choice of religions is a dead end. I was brought up in the Catholic Church and God showed me the way out and into His saving Arms.
You do what you want. But after many days or months of prayer and fasting with your feet steadfastly fastened in the true Word of God. King James Bible.><>

I think you would be better in the life of a married man. You are free to choose where you live rather than be assigned to a parish or multiple parishes in your time. You can contribute just about as much within a church as a priest can - but you won't be able to sanctify the host and wine, give absolution, conduct certain ceremonies, etc. You can still counsel, participate in mass by doing readings, giving communion, get involved with other church functions.
And you will be able to have children to raise within the church as well as a spouse to be your partner in all these things.

It is too bad that the decision can't be to be married or not and be a priest. I'm not sure why Catholic Priests aren't allowed to be married, when some of Jesus' disciples were. I'd say marriage.

I think you should get married. That way you can teach your children from the time of their birth to be loving and grateful for everything have. In that way you will be making the biggest contribution to spreading God's message. God wants us to love not hate. Positive energy vibrates higher then negative energy.
Our Earth needs more positive energy to help her heal. All the negative in the world is slowly killing her.
Which ever choice you make, you've made the right choice. You are on Earth for a reason.

If you want to be a priest, go for it. What's worse quitting being a priest or getting divorced? What's the lesser of two evils here? Is there a lessor?
All I'm asking is what if you wanted to change your mind later on in life?

There is no way that an Catholic man who is seriously contemplating a vocation to the priesthood would even post such a question. That decision would be made upon prayerful reflection and outside "input" like this would not even feature!!!!
You trivialize such a decision.

Whichever one you feel more inclined to do. Both the call to the priesthood and the call to married life are calls from God, meant to sanctify us in Christ-centered lives.
Perhaps the best of both worlds are in order...
You can live the married life and become ordained as a Deacon.

Marriage. Just remember that God created Man, and they needed to create a helpmeet for him, Woman. From the beginning of time has man clinged to a wife, why not continue God's command to Multiply and replenish the earth? Priests in Celibacy seems a rather strange concept to me.

I would suggest the life of a married man...but you really need to make that decision for yourself.
