W/o a doubt, the most phenomenal book ever assembled. All the more so for the # of authors and manuscripts, cultural settings, and about 2200 years of history.
Mythology, parables, history, poetry, wisdom teachings, prophecy. It is FANtastic.
I say this from the perspective of one who has translated a good share of the NT from the Greek.
I share this as one with an earned doctorate, and who reads the Bible through at least 2 times a year.
Questions - ask them. The Bible isn't afraid.

I think it is the biggest collection of hokes pokes nonsense I have ever read. I studied the bible for eleven years. Every time I opened it I became violently ill. I had a very difficult time holding my lunch. I used up a bottle of Alika Seltzer a week. After I became an Atheist I have never used an Alika Seltzer. OO

Got a 1 year Bible of my Grandmothers. I have read it cover to cover for about 5 years now. (5 times) I have looked at the archaeology, science etc and yep it is God's word!

"If I had no other data than the early chapters of Genesis, some of the Psalms and other passages of Scripture, I would have arrived at essentially the same picture of the origin of the universe, as is indicated by the scientific data." Yes, I have many times and I used to believe it was the Holy Word of God, but not any more. I think it is a lovely book of myths and legends with pretty stories and some of those stories have lesson we can use in life, but it is no more important than any other myths about Gods and Goddesses.

I haven’t read the entire bible, but I have read too much.
I think it’s a horrible fictional book with a thin plot and bad characterization, I think the ideas in the bible or equally convincing as the ideas in Scientology. I also think the bible inspires hate, but then again maybe I think too much.

Yes, and I've studied it in its original languages. The Old Testament is largely legends and morality tales. In the New Testament describes a growing Christian cult.

However, none of it seems relevant to the modern age, except that people have a hard time letting it go. If closely examined, its mythology falls apart.

I love the word of God. I might have read it all, but I know I have read at least the New Testament. I am in process of listening the Old Testament in CD. Very interesting.

I believe I have read it all.I believe the contents of it. If it appears that there is a contradiction, then I study it so I understand what is meant. Besides it is accurate in it's history and science.

yeah, i've read it. it's got some good stories in it tho the Old English "thees and thous" gets tedious after awhile. and all them begats! skipped those boring chapters. i prefer the Hindu myths. more exciting, imaginative and colorful. i like Native American myths too. i can't decide if they're simplistic or cryptic, either way they're lovely.

I have total faith that the Bible is true. It is God's Word and when I need help, who needs a book store for a self-help book when I have my NLT Life Application Study Bible.
