Actually, Jehovah was in the KJV until just recently, though only in a few places. It was removed. In the first four versions of the KJV, that were not "Authorized" by the Church of England, it appeared more often. It took them 150 years to get the KJV to the point where it could be "Authorized."
As for God's name, for those who claim wer shouldn't be using it because it is not the right translations, but than neither is Jesus. Regardless, the churches of Christendom still fear using it, even in the proper form.
Here's a none JW reference on it.

I can not accept God's name as Jehovah, because the word Jehovah was just invention. The correct pronunciation of YHVH or YHWH was lost long time ago until this time, and no one know the exact pronunciation. The word Jehovah is unknown to early christians and Jews, and it come to exist in the early 14th century.
The KJV bible is considered as one of the prefered english translation of the Bible, though there are four verses in the old books that mention the word Jehovah, this does not mean that the KJV as a whole is not truthful, this is just a result from Bible translator in which the information is avaible in their time.

The KJV is still the preferred version for all Bible scholars. The Lord has about 60 different names so why would you single out just one. Jehovah is just one of them.

With your logic, English speaking Christians woudn't be able to believe Jesus was God since his name in Hebrew was Yeshua.Niether would Spanish speaking people, since Jesus sounds like "hayzoos", in their language. In Vietnamese it's Gi-su, etc.
Of course there will be differences in pronounciation and spelling due to the different languages.
But you'll pick an answer by an athiest anyway.
Instead of wasting your time picking pointless arguments, read C.S. Lewis.

Actually in Kabbalah, "God" has many names:
YHVH (the Tetragrammaton & usually pronounced as Yahweh or Yehovah), YHVH Tzabaoth, El, Shaddai, etc. There's also a 72 letter name for Him found in Exodus and this was found using Gematria by the ancient Hebrews.
All of these names were tribal names that the various semitic tribes used and it was the prophet Moshesh when he lead his people out of Babylon (not Egypt) who codified these various names and brought them all under one banner.
If you're interested in learning more about your god, you should get and read a copy of the Zohar and the Sephir Yetzirah.

Many times those who rail the hardest are those who hunger the most. Your anger reveals your underlying hurt pain. I don't know what caused such pain, but I'm sorry. I hope when you have finished such ventings, we can talk w/o the flash points and emotional triggers. We would love to love you enough for you to realize it.

GOD was not always known as Jehovah.
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
