it all depends, technically speaking you can go ahead and eat most fish skin that has no scales, salmon is ok to eat.
However, if i was you, i would only eat the skin if the salmon that is wild caught. If the salmon is farmed, the skin and the layer of meat (mostly fat, usually grey when cooked) between the actual meat and the skin, are full of psb's and it is recommended not to eat them.

I bake the Salmon until the meat is tender enough to slide right off the skin and I leave the few bones and all of the skin on the plate when I am finished dining. Although everyone else so far on Yahoo disagrees, I believe it is more refined to leave the skin and the people I know personally that like Salmon don't eat the skin. This puzzles me.

I eat them. Actually some recipe for sushi are made with salmon skin.
Here are some tips:
Keep salmon refrigerated until ready to cook.
Leave skin on during cooking; it helps to hold fish together while turning or moving it. The skin comes off easily after cooking.
Keep salmon skin intact to prevent curling.
Cook salmon just until meat begins to change color and becomes flaky.
Salmon will continue to cook after being removed from heat source, so be careful not to overcook

The skin is where a lot of the fats are concentrated.
Depending on the environment the fish lived in, it can be okay or bad.
Obviously, fat is tasty. Fish fats, including salmon, are high in Omega-3 fats, which are about as healthy as fats get.
However, most toxins, particularly PCBs and other nasty stuff tends to be stored in the fat, as well.
Don't be fooled, "farmed" fish usually are higher in toxins.
So... "it depends...," sorry.

Eat it if you want to, but it's probably high in fat. I would think if you're eating it to be healthy, you wouldn't want the skin since the fat is stored just under the skin to keep the fish warmer.
