Today I saw on entertainment tonight that one cast member called another a F*g.....ok that was not nice, but the public is saying is just a bad as using the "N" word, maybe because the insulter was African American, anyway they are protesting for his job....my question when did the "F" word become as insulting as the "N" word, what did I miss, neither are nice words to use to describe someone, but one does not have the history of hate as the other, I guess I missed that memo ?

Welcome to the world of political correctness. We've elevated the "F" word to be on the same level as the "N" word, and I've seen people try and say that using the word retard is a hateful word as well. Makes you wonder what's next....

It's 2007. We need to just get over it. All of it. Like the song says, "Why can't we be friends." Our society is going to reap what it sows. This politically correct mentality has gone too far. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me. Think about it....it's not 1950 anymore. We can all ride on the same bus. We can all drink out of the same water fountain. We all have the same opportunities now. If we work hard for that education and do good on the job, there is no discrimination - race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. If we keep discrimination alive, it will never die. We need to put an end to discrimination once and for all.

I think the N word is worse cause it is a form of belittlement and hatred.Gays dont mind being called gay,but dont like the F word. They prefer one word over another, but there is no equivalant word to the N word.

I didn't hear about this. What public is saying that? I disagree. The "F" word will never be as insulting or derogatory as the "N" word.
