I have scars from past acne, redness, and some freckles. Also some present acne along my jawline. How can I get rid of this and have a clear face without causing more breakouts? I'm 31 and don't wear makeup. Is there a good product out there that will fade quickly?

Washing your face a few times a day with a mild face wash can usually clear up a lot of acne by ridding the face of excess oils. However, over washing your face could lead to excess drying and the production of more pore-clogging oil, which in turn could cause more acne. If you have a case of acne that requires more treatment than face washing alone, there are many prescription medications and topical creams that can clear up mild to very severe acne.

Using an over-the-counter product such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can dry out the spot. Benzoyl peroxide is typically used once or twice daily, but initially most people should only apply it once a day or every other day to avoid redness and excessive drying. Another popular home acne treatment is salicylic acid. You can usually find this in medicated facial pads and also in some face washes. Salicylic acid prevents your hair follicles from shedding excess skin and clogging your pores, thereby fighting the cause of most acne and blackheads. This will make the blemish vanish faster and is preventative as well. Something all teenagers should do is wash your face two to three times a day. You should never go to sleep without thoroughly washing your face using a mild face wash.

I'm 18 and I don't have any scars yet, but here's what I use to battle my current Acne:

Proactive Solution...yes, from the commercials!! I use a 4 step system: Cleanser, Toner, Lotion, and Daily Oil Control. It costs about forty dollars a month and they ship to you automatically! Also for when I have blemishes I use Doctor Burt's Herbal Blemish Stick (by Burt's Bees). It contains Tea Tree Oil which is great for your skin!! To hide the redness you may want to use a good foundation. Find one that matches your skin tone and it will help blend the uneveness! I use Mary Kay and it seems to work pretty well. And Always, Always, Always wash your face day and night!! It's a must to fight clogged pores!!

The face is a very delicate area. I use Sea Breeze at the beginning and end of each day. I use it at the beginning because while sleeping, we tend to push a lot of oils out of the face. I use it at the end of the day because of obvious reasons. You're active all day, and the facial area gets very dirty! Just wash your face in tepid water with a nice soap like Dove for Sensitive Skin, then dry with a clean towel. Then, with cotton balls, use the Sea Breeze. I think you'll see something pretty shocking on those cotton balls. You'll see more dirt! Soap only gets the surface. You want to get in those pores and get them clean. I wear make-up, but I ALWAYS wash it off at the end of the day, and I ALWAYS use the Sea Breeze. Now that I am close to 35, I'm using the Oil of Olay products. I have no wrinkles, yet. I refuse to ever have anything surgically done - minor or major. Good luck!

I have the same skin issues. I find that keeping my face well moisturized & making sure I wash my face twive a day has really helped. I also do a mask on Wed nights. And, ice packs for your eyes are wonderful. But, I make sure that my face soap is antibacterial & I antibacterialize everything that touches my face.

The combination of Tea Tree Oil soap and the Clindamycin cream is the best for Acne and pimple. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too. Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
