Mini Dachshunds. Problem is they don't know they are small and will go after a Rottie! But they are a small dog with a big personality. My son and his wife have 1 standard and a pair of long hair minis that have two 3 week old pups now. TOO CUTE!

CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS!!! They have the personality of a golden retriever but in a little tiny package (about 12-15 lbs). They are sweet and cuddly and look like puppies even when they mature. Best breed I've ever owned!

Too bad you don't like chihuahuas. They are the best by far of any dog. I have owned many breeds and mixed breeds buut nothing comes close to a chihuahua in my book.

here's link to the akc list of toy breeds. most of these dog's stay under 10lbs. make sure you research any breeder and the breed so you know what to ask the breeder. don't buy from a petstore. when you settle on a breed you can either find a reputable breeder, or what i recccomend is going to your local humane society or petfinder to find either that breed or a mix of your favorite two. make sure you research all it takes to be a good pet owner and can provide that. good luck to you.

maltese, they are cute, and stay pretty tiny. The only thing that you may not like is the tear stains they get. They are white, therefore it looks like they have dirty faces sometimes. You just need to keep them very clean.
