"Brandy (short for brandywine, from Dutch brandewijn—'burnt wine') is a general term for distilled wine, usually 40–60% ethyl alcohol by volume. In addition to wine, this spirit can also be made from grape pomace or fermented fruit juice. Unless specified otherwise, brandy is made from grape wine."

The health benefits in wine (red wine) come from the skins of the grapes. Since brandy isn't made from grapes, it doesn't have the same benefits.

As an aside, red wine is made with the grape peels left in. Blush wine has some of the peels, white wine has none of the peels. Guess which has the most benefits?

Brandy is wine, it is just fortified (as one of the answers pointed out). But no I don't think brandy would have the same health benefits due to the much higher alcohol content.

i don't believe so. i heard my doctor say once that a small 4-6oz. glass of wine is good for making your heart healthier, but i wouldn't assume the same for brandy. wine is made from grapes, i don't believe brandy is. but i'm not an expert on alcohol. lol. i've never heard brandy is good for you, but new things are popping up in the world of research, so it may possibly be.
