God destoryed the earth in Genesis 1:2
God created the earth in verse 1..and it survived for millions of years. That's why Jeremiah talks about the destruction in chapter 4.

Scholars believe that the devil destroyed the earth once, the evidence of that is between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. God created all things and then In verse 2 total devastation.

But it sounds like your trying to discredit the Bible and that will never happen

In Jeremiah 4:7 It speaks of the destroyer, There is only one credited for being a destroyer, Satan
