If you know something to be true because it is evident to the degree such things as gravity or a rock is real it does not require faith because you can see/touch it. Faith is the belief that something is real without the physical proof that it is real. Now when I go to bed I have faith that the sun will rise the next day. until it does it is only faith because I can on see it rise until it actually does. That is what faith in God is about. We believe their is a God based on what we see / perceive as evidence but do not have actual proof of it yet. Just as some atheist have faith in the Big Bang theory, it was not witnessed but they see what they believe is evidence of it and there forth they have faith that it was how the Earth / Universe was created. So faith is something more than just wanting something to be it is based on what each individual sees, hears, experiences and believe is the most logical next step or answer from their perspective.
I have faith that God exists because I do see that man is much more advanced then any other animal on this planet. We have abilities that don't even come close to being duplicated by any other animal. Also if life on this earth was just an accident why don't we see proof of it on any of our neighboring planets. I believe that God had to have created this planet and the life on it. No other theories make as much sense to me.

The Christian faith is not an irrational or illogical leap in the dark as some would like to presume. Rather, it can be a series of reasoned steps into the light, resulting in an intelligent commitment based on adequate evidence and critical investigation.
The proof is all around us. Some choose to ignore it because they prefer darkness over light. For them, acknowledging God would pose a difficult choice - continue in their sin or admit that it is sin in God's eyes, turn from it, and obey God's laws. Which is the easier choice? Our selfish nature wants its own way, wants what's easiest, and doesn't want to yield to a higher authority. We can choose to turn a blind eye to the evidence God has laid out before us, but in the end, we will be without excuse.
-------------------
"...Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." -Romans 1:19-20
"This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil." -John 3:19

How is gravity any more logical than believing in G-d? Have you actually seen the mathematical/scientific calculations that prove the existence of G-force? No, but you believe scientists and scholars who are older and wiser than you and you see it's outcome - as in, you see gravity's manifestation everywhere around you. It's the same with G-d.
Besides, g-d created everything, and thus he created the idea that everything has to be 'proven'. God is not confined to the areas of logic and proof - especially not human logic.

All Spiritual thought is based on unprovable ideals. Even Atheists cannot prove that there is no God.
My religion has alot to do with Natural Forces like Time and Gravity and Inertia. I don't believe in anything that isn't backed by science and I don't consider my beliefs unchangeable.
In other words. if someone were to prove to me that my beliefs were scientificallly inaccurate, I would stop believing them. I would not make up a dumb excuse like Satan is deceiving us and continue believing what I want to believe. That is immersing yourself deliberately into an imaginary fantasy world.

Faith is just that, faith. It doesn't have to be logical and if you're looking for logic within specific systems of faith, you will be disappointed.
Having faith in god or in anything else does not preclude you from also having faith or recognize the truth and facts of gravity.

Peace!
Faith is not faith if it has all the answers. To believe in God requires a leap of faith. God, I think requires that. Why? I really don't know. I suggest you read the story of Abraham who was tested by God and rewarded for his great faith.

its is logical and unlogical, the very idea with or without a creator is scary, if you study quantum mechanics it goes deep to the very core of god because it cannot be explained away rationally, everyday reality doesnt work with the quantum world

Religion is not logical, it is just an entity for the people you cared for and not directly for you but in a way you benefited from it.
