Just bought a house that had a lot of wallpaper - mainly border, but the process would work for both. I took a wet fabric (I used a ripped up sheet) and held it on the border. I then used my steam iron, and ironed over the the sheet and wallpaper. The steam and heat made the wallpaper peel right off. In some places, I had to use a scraper to scrape of the bottom layer of wallpaper, but it mostly peeled off. While still time consuming, it was much less labor intensive than other methods I've heard about.

First, make sure you score the wallpaper REALLY well. Home Depot or Lowe's will have a paper scorer (the brand is usually Tiger). Don't forget to pick up a wallpaper scraper if you don't already own one! Scoring will allow the steam to get under the paper, so you can easily remove it. Be sure to scrape the paper off as you steam. It's easier to remove the paper if you steam it long enough for the paper to sort of bubble up. If there are several layers of wallpaper, you may have to remove one layer at a time, just remember to score the crap out of each layer first. Hopefully, there is sizing or primer under the paper! If not, you will most likely dig into the wall itself while removing the paper. Then you'll have to skim the walls with joint compound, then sand before priming and painting. I recently did my friend's old farmhouse which had wallpaper that had been painted over . Be thankful that yours is just wallpaper! Good luck!

I used to artwork at a wallpaper save, and am presently doing this in my very own residence. I in basic terms discover an empty spray bottle, fill it some million/4 to a million/3 of how with fabric softener, upload a pair drops of dish cleansing soap, and then replenish something of how with heat water. Spray down the wall you're engaged on in attainable sized components, and then wait 15-20 minutes (extra in case you sprayed heavily). the paper would desire to sense a sprint cheesy or very just about sticky to touch, then you incredibly would desire to be waiting to take a scraper and in basic terms initiate peeling the paper away. a stable gadget to apply is a Paper Tiger (any ironmongery shop would desire to understand what it incredibly is and the two carry them or show you how to already know a close-by place that does). you will possibly would desire to be certain you wash the wall as quickly as each and every thing is scraped off with a comfortable cleansing soap and water mixture (heat) to make beneficial than any glue that would desire to be caught to the wall is long gone beforehand you paint. additionally make beneficial that's thoroughly dry beforehand you start to primer and paint, and in case you're frightened with regard to the moisture on the wall from removing the paper inflicting mold down the line an staggering primer to apply may well be KILZ! wish that enables :o)
