My buddies and I are going to Regina for spring break, becuase we are only 19, therefore not old enough to drink in the US. What are some of the best nightclubs and restaurants in Regina? Anything else fun to do in that area? How's Casino Regina, is it worth the trip?

I assume that you are coming in from the northern United States... either North Dakota or Montana -- which are some of my favorite places.

There is a whole bunch of nightclubs in what's called the "warehouse district" about three blocks north of downtown along Dedwney Avenue. Recommended are Habano's, Bushwakker's, Soho and The Drink. Not sure if Gabbo's is still open.

At the University of Regina, the big student hangout is called the Lazy Owl. It's located in the Riddell Centre, which is on the southwest side of the university.

Along Albert Street South, there are a number of excellent bars and restaurants. The waitresses at Earls are legendary for their attractiveness, but the best time I've ever had was at a pub called Bonzinni's, which is on the northwest corner of Albert Street and Gordon Road. It is about 50 feet to the east of an excellent sports bar called Boston Pizza. In fact, there are four Boston Pizza is around the city. In my humble opinion, the very best sports bar in town is theFour Seasons, located in the east end of the city just south east of the intersection of Park Street and Arcola Avenue.

An excellent restaurant-nightclub in the east end is Moxie's. It's quite close to a brew pub called Brewsters. There is a second Brewsters in the south end, in between Bonzinni's and Earls.

Now, you need something to do. Check the web site of the Regina Pats, the local junior "A" hockey team, which plays at what is now called the Brandt Center, about 1 mile west-northwest of downtown Regina. The University of Regina Cougars basketball teams might be playing when you're in town. Their schedules can be found on the web site of the U of R.

There is a large casino downtown, but it's full of old geezers, though the show lounge occasionally has some really interesting acts ... check its web site. The casino is right across the street from the city's biggest shopping mall, Cornwall Center.

Unless young men have changed significantly since those days when I used to go on drinking tours of the northern US, you probably are not terribly interested in historical buildings or art galleries.

Have a great time!

Huh? Fun nighclubs? Great restaurants? In Regina?????

Sorry, Regina ain't Montreal. Or even Calgary!!!!

But there are indeed several bars and clubs where 19year old Americans wanting to tie one on may do so.
