Is there a way to stream audi through a phone line?

Can i plug my landline into my ibook and play pre recorded messages or talk to people through my computer

I want to stream audio from itunes, gargageband into my phone line and be able to mix what people hear on the phone
what program should i use?

If you are using a true phone line, your maximum throughput will be 56Kb, however your local phone company will not guarantee any speed above 300 baud on an non conditioned phone line. So if you really want to stream a signal you can, but keep error checking on, as you call may last a while.
