He was the greatest boxer ever, yeah marciano went undefeated but he never had the competition that Ali faced. He faught for something he believed in as a muslim and follower of malcom x he sought a path that was nonviolent, yeah so boxing is beating up a guy but its not killing him. Ali has a legacy of respect and hope and understanding. with his fame he taught people about respect and understanding. Ali was and is a great man and should be respected by all.

Right, he not only was a champion but a showman and a gentleman;who showed courage and integrity standing up for what he believed even though it was unpopular. In order to have a hero you need a villain, and many have chosen him as a villain.

He is respected by many people. More so today than in the past. He lived in a turbulent time where he stood his ground about going to Vietnam and suffered three long years without a boxing license as well as losing his title outside the ring. If there are those who disrespect Ali it is mostly people from that time. People who believed in fighting for your country even if it seemed wrong or were frightened by his conversion to Black Islam. For the most part the true boxing fans and most in the media have grown to love Ali. May he still be with us for another 10 to 20 years.

They cheer when he loses and cry when he wins. He was a concientious objector and they hate him for that. They wanted him to shut his mouth and when they get their wish they are not happy with that either. As Jack Nicholson said "You can't handle the truth". The truth being despite all the negativity Ali is still great. He has to use a wheel chair now because he had surgery to correct spinal stenosis, he has Parkinson's, he can't talk in public because no one would hear him. Don't you think it a little bit brave of someone to keep going out in public like that. Don't you think he feels conscious of the way he is or looks to people. No you Ali haters probably think he is stupid for showing himself still after all these years. You put alot of effort into making creative avatars and changing your names how about a little effort in picking up a dictionary and looking up conscientious objector. Oh the question: They hate because he didn't go into the military. A war that John McCain said was a mistake. Thirty percent of Americans polled would vote McCain president. They hate because they are too lazy to study about someone they hate. Ali is a great man don't let idiots stray you.
