get real dull and laidback. Its like I open up with my family willingly then close up around everyone else. Any tips on how to open up a little more because I really want to be this fun loving person who knows when and where to be playful and when to be serious.

You trust your family and they have earned it.
You will open up with those that you find that same trust with. Don`t worry about it. One day you will open when your with that guy or friends that you feel that same level of trust.
My wife is the same way. So fun and funny. Yet around others she is quiet and uneasy. This really surprised me at first because she was so open and fun with me when we met.
Your a great person. You will come out when the time is right.

You are more relaxed around your family. You are already the fun person you want to be you just need to relax a little more around other people and they will see you for who you really are.
