Cardio will burn fat and slim you down so you look cut. Do push ups, sit ups, crunches, squats, dips and other exercises you can do at home with little or no equipment.

Buy a pair of plastic coated dumbells at Kmart or Walmart and do curls.

I don't believe Bruce Lee lifted weights and he was ripped as hell. Use your own body weight as resistance.

As for reps, do as many as you can do and be able to do 3 sets. If you can do 3 sets of 10 each you are good to go. Once this becomes easy, add more reps to each set.

John has some great advice. There are plenty of things you can do around the house without having to pay for a gym membership, all it takes is some creative thought. It's funny how milk jugs could easily be turned in to hand held weights, or maybe some milk crates secured onto a strong pipe or strong piece of wood can resemble a bar (I suggest you wear a towel around your traps [across the top of you back ] if what you use isn't very smooth). There is plenty of in home equipment you can make or buy, just be sure it is safe and secure if you make your own. You'll see the quickest results with cardio, and you may not know the exact weights your lifting, but I always thought functional muscle was better than how many round pieces of metal you can lift.

If you don't want to go to the gym, get a job doing physical labor. Work on a farm. Do construction work. In order to have great muscles, you must work them. If not in a gym, you have to work them somewhere else.
