Hell, they have found Troy, does that make the Iliad completely true? Why do fundies not see how illogical this is?

At least the Oddyssey followed a solid plot.

Great question.... i've been asking the same myself, the bible... made of 2 parts, the first one writen by people which theres no evidence at all they were actualy real people and not some kind of made up caracter to explain our need to believe in something greater than us, think about it, moises talked to god and why that never happened again in history, god has never talked again to anyone? .

the second part, writen by people that actually never met jesus, evidence says that they start writing it at least 80 years after jesus died... it teach us great things, how to live in peace with ourselves as well as the others, i believe in jesus as a great human being, and that the bible is just some kind of interpretation of what really happened, or how it really happened, i dont think it has more credible historical sources than the odyssey, as someone else said "just better stories" stories that actually teach us something

who's holding the Illiad or Odyssey are literally genuine? "What about all the human beings accessible that say that the Bible has mistakes through mistranslations, and stuff like that? it truly is, a minimum of, traditionally precise in that that became what human beings believed, and as to the recent testement, what got here about. isn't it?" once back, who's holding the Illiad or Odyssey are literally genuine? both someone is or your question is a pink herring. it truly is it?

1. The multiple eye-witness accounts written much sooner after actual events than most accepted historical accounts.
2. Inclusion of embarrasing behavior of the disciples during the life of Jesus (honestly, experts use this as a reliability source since if the stories are fabricated typically embarassing events are not written in)

There are many more - see authors below for more info.

Because of 2000 years of the church forcing ppl to believe it or die. When Rome was declared a Xtian state the Xtian church burned books, libraries, and people to try to eradicate all of the philosophers knowledge and the Pagan parallels to their godman. Then made the ppl ignorant, unable to read and a crime to own a bible. Then we were plunged into the Dark Ages. Nice going and a great way to make your version of history the only one left!

the word you are looking for is context... there is evidence of joseph, mary and jesus, the characters of the odysey may be made up....there is no actual evidence of them, though they may have existed. but knownig anything about greek gods and such takes a leap of faith...as well as jesus being the son of a god... now i'm not trying to start a holy war here, but whether you believe jesus the son of god doesnt' diminish the roman records of a son born to joseph and mary of bethlehem.

they dont see how illogical it is because they prayed to jesus to find their missing keys and they found their keys

this meets their standard of evidence that jesus exists

now, i personally prayed to zeus to find my keys and i found them, but zeus is a false god because they correctly applied the presumption of atheism,

god danging its jim darwin and bc monkee and its like 80 of them against the two of us,

get your shovel out

because we know who wrote the odyssey and he didn't intend for people to believe that it actually happened
