At my brothers wedding, the brides mother walked my brother down the aisle. My mom is hurt over this saying she should have been the one to walk him down the aisle... OR is there even a particular person to walk the groom down? Please let me know :) Thanks!

NO. If your brother was the one getting married that day then NO one should have walked him down the aisle. And you know what? HE SHOULDN'T have even walked down the aisle. He is suppose to be next to the officiate/ priest waiting for the bride.

I don't think anyone walks the groom down the aisle. If I'm not mistaken, the groom and the best man are already near the altar at the front of the church, standing there waiting for the bridesmaids, maid-of-honor, flower girl, and the bride to walk down the aisle. I have never heard of the bride's mother walking the groom down the aisle.

Ok, I'm a little confused? Are you asking who seats the mother of the groom, or who actually walks the groom down the aisle. Ok well if you are asking who seats the mother meaning who walks her to her seat, then you have a lot of options, you could just have an usher, the actual groom could walk his mom to her seat, another son in the wedding, or as my mom is doing, she is having her father seat her. She wants her dad to walk her down again, how cute! (I thought anyway) If you are asking who walks the groom down the aisle, then noone, he ussually waits til the moms and grandmoms have been seated, then he, the best man, and the person marrying you walk you and stand in place, then the wedding party comes in. Hope this clears it up, sorry your moms mad, its kinda whoever works best for the person, not really an assigned thing, good luck!

I don't know but that is interesting. I feel as though your mother brought you into the world and she should be the one letting you leave. I don't remember a groom being walked down the aisle anyway. On television their always there in the front anyway.

Whoever the groom wants to walk him down the aisle would be my guess. If I had a son I think I'd be so incredibly flattered if he asked me to walk him down the aisle but if not my nose wouldn't be out of joint. I would trust his judgement and respect his choice. (My little girl is getting married next year so I will be getting a son after all ... and a terrific one at that)

I have never been to a wedding where the groom walked down the aisle. He always waits at the front of the church with the best man and the officiant. I have to agree with your mom in this instance although it was nice gesture for him to walk with his bride's mom. The wedding is over, tell your mom to get over it.

The groom does not walk down the aisle. He enters at the side near the front on his own. Ushers seat the guests, that is their job.. The mothers are escorted by the ushers last. Anyway, that is the tradition. Do whatever makes you happy.

I don't believe that their is any particular order for that sort of thing. It's really just whatever you want. Usually the ushers just do it in a random order. For my wedding my fiance is going to walk his mother down the aisle and then get into position at the alter and my brother-in-law who is an usher is going to walk my mother down the aisle. I think that you could do it anyway yuo want to.

The groom should walk down his mother. The brides mother is to be walked down by her son, her husband or if neither of these are available then by the groom.
