Chelle - yes you can die from only having 600 to 700 calories a day.
Yes, the manner in which you could die from eating that few calories would be EXACTLY the same as the process from dying from anorexia - malnutrition leading to multiple organ failure and heart attack.
The bare MINIMUM a person should eat is 1,200 calories - NOT 900. (This should be MORE if you are a teenager as you are still growing and could do permanent damage to your metabolism if you are on a calorie restricted diet.) If you are interested in a calorie restricted diet, please seek out reputable health professionals to guide you. You should never eat 600 to 700 calories a day unless under direct supervision by a doctor or nutritionist.

I don't think alot of these people really know what they are talking about. If you are only eating 600-700 calories a day...yes it CAN be unhealthy. If you are eating the right things such as home made meals etc then you could be fine...for your weight a good calorie intake is around 1000 depending on your build etc...but it really depends on what your DOCTOR would recommend for your weight, body build, height etc.
As long as you are not losing weight, or muscle strength then you should be fine. Just remember to get all your fruits, veggies, meats, breads and water etc. etc.
But yes, if you become anorexic, you will most likely be getting alot less calories (like my sister, she's anorexic and only getting like 400...and her dr. said she should be at 900 to become healthy again...and she's down to 95lbs.), then yes you could become worse and worse and EVENTUALLY die....but it's nothing sudden.
Just please dont become anorexic....it hurts everyone around you!!! Trust me I know!

Good information Funny girls, I just don't get it as soon as someone says anything about eating to few of calories everyone is ready to tell them they are anorexia and give the big lecture.
It would take a long time to die on that amount of calories, but you will also put your body in to starvation mode so what you do eat it will turn into fat and once you eat normal you will gain weight because your body has no idea when it is going to get food again so it saves it as fat. each time you do this it makes it harder and harder to lose weight. so if you are thinking of dropping your calorie level that way for a few days as weight loss booster, will only hinder your weight loss efforts. It's recommended to eat about 1200-1500 calories a day and exercise

Eating less than 1200 calories is not reccommended, or as you don't want it to be put, unhealthy. You won't shrivel up and turn into a skeleton, but your immune system will weaken and you will become susceptible to diseases. If you feel it is necessary to make such drastic changes in your diet, you should sleep on a regular basis - 9 hours of sleep a day (and sleeping burns calories, which seems to be your goal).

you may not die, but you can leave yourself open to more illnesses, as you aren't getting the proper nutrients, with such a low caloric intake.
