Does anyone know of any effective natural acne remedies? I've tried Proactive and several other prescription medications and have had no luck. I'm running out of ideas.

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

I bought every possible product and what I found was that no single product has the ability to completely clear acne, since it comes from so many sources. Acne is caused by genes, stress, diet, excercize and several other factors, and no one change, be it in diet or cream, can address all of those issues.
I read a book that really helped me with this. http://bambiberg.acnefree.hop.clickbank.net/ this book really made me understand this, and when I finally used the correct combination of lifestyle changes, my acne disappeared in just a few days. However, do not get this book, if you are not willing to follow through. Change is hard, I am the first to admit, but the payoff is awesome, because I am acne free.

Ok all those natural remedies might help only for a short period of time. If you want them to go away forever you really have to see a doctor who can prescribe tablets called roaccatan. Try putting ice on the acne, at night use Neutrogena for acne face wash, it helps alot and always use sunblock that does not clog pores.

*******
*******Acne is sometimes caused by a hormonal imbalance (i.e. puberty). Otherwise, is it caused when the body needs to be cleansed.

Blood Purifiers help cleanse the blood by carrying toxins away from the cells to the eliminating organs and by carrying nutrients to the cells. There are many single herbs that act as blood purifiers, or you can combine herbs to get the added benefits of all of the herbs.

Blood Purifier Combination #1: Yellow Dock, Dandelion, Burdock, Licorice, Chaparral, Red Clover, Barberry, cascara Sagrada, Yarrow, Sarsaparilla
Blood Purifier Combination #2: Red Clover, Chaparral, Licorice, Poke Root, Peach Bark, Oregon Grape, Stillingia, Cascara Sagrada
This sounds impossible, since these herbs don't just "hang out" at the local supermarket. But you can buy a couple online and combine them, for example, Yarrow, Licorice, Red Clover, Yellow Dock, and Dandelion (all available at http://www.bulkherbstore.com/).

This site will also tell you how to make a tea or a tincture out of the herbs. Tinctures are concentrated in alcohol or glycerin and therefore you take less than you would have to take of capsules or teas. The prices at this site are some of the best that I have found. And their information is invaluable.

from personal experience, there are certain types of acne. the basic is the puberty thing where your hormones go out of control (lots of smaller acne everywhere). then there's your toxicity level, where the kind of food you eat is putting more toxins in your body and showing up on your skin (larger type acne with lots of pus). finally there's personal hygiene, where like those educational videos state, dirt gets trapped in pores & acne results (lots of blackheads). but usually more than one kind is in effect so maybe using multiple strategies is the key. so, for the first kind, there's basically no cure, you gotta grow out of it but regular exercise helps - sweating clears out the pores. for the second kind, a good natural antioxidant will cleanse your body. try something like OPC-3, it's in your local health food place. it's a slow process though. for the last kind, daily cleansing of your face with the proper facial wash will help, a cream or foam cleanser every day, a scrubber maybe twice a week. and conditioner every day. doing all three will maximize your chances of beating this.
