I have never seen anything so stupid in my life as the US policy of evacuating large buildings when there is a disease or poison scare? WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY THINKING? If there is 700 people in a tall building and small pox or something is released upon them, they do what? EVACUATE!!! Everyone out, INFECT YOUR NEIGHBORS FAST! SPREAD IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!!! You see it time and time again, even in drills, the run everyone out into the population!! Have they no brains? Why isnt the disaster plan to CONTAIN such things?

I am referring to the bird flu scare in texas. they spread the residents of what a 6 square block area into the rest of the town, and cleaned up the birds... Oh heck one of the most horrible flu strains on earth, and they spread it with no regard to anyone else. the did the same in that anthrax scare last year... Run them out! every goo infect someone! you think this is a good thing? No wonder its done that way.

I have absolutely NEVER heard of that kind of thing happening. I have evacuated buildings because of bomb threats, fire drills, and twice because of actual fires. While I was teaching, if a kid went home because of a contagious disease (i.e., measles - which is much rarer now than when I was a kid in the 1960's), then the kid would go home and not be allowed back without written clearance from his doctor.

Ever hear of panic? Try telling 700 people that they are being exposed to poison and that they can’t leave the building. The only way to keep them in would be to shoot them when the tried to exit. There would still be those who would rather take their chances with the police than the poison.
I find it hard to believe the Emergency Management authorities in your area, let those people just walk off. There are protocols to be followed and exposing even more people isn’t one of them.
As for the avian flu; not a single person in the US has contracted it. Very few cases exist where the disease has jumped from infected chickens to humans; even then conditions have to be just right.
In almost all situations like this, panic will injure far more people that the actual threat.
If you really want to know how these situations should be handled; go to the Department of Homeland Security. You can even take accredited online courses on Emergency Management.

Let’s see here. There are 30 stories, and a poison has been released on the 29th floor, you’re on the 10th. Is it fair that you have to hang around and get infected? Not to mention what if the package was a bomb, do you want to hang around for that? Also, do you really think you would be able to contain thousands of scared people? If you locked the doors, you would have a riot. The idea of the disaster plan is to get the 1000's of scared people out the door safely.

Your daughter... who's alive, secure and in good health... became briefly inconvenienced by technique of getting to evacuate her progression as a way to guarantee her safe practices. in the interim, there are 32 instruments of oldsters who're burying their toddlers. and also you're complaining why? you should hit your knees and thank God that they evacuated even on the mere hint of a probability and that she isn't between the numerous youthful childrens who're being buried this week! i do not understand what's incorrect with human beings today nor do i imagine you or I for that matter are in charge. i imagine there is an staggering component of today's society that for although causes are disturbed. that isn't any longer something new... that is been occurring for decades now. Too a lot of human beings were taken out too early and too youthful because someone with a gun had a grudge to settle. that is unjustified and horriffic. that is frustrating to locate peace in a international the position tears and blood seem shed concurrently. Our in common words desire as a civilized society isn't to lash out or attempt to point blame. we want to locate ideas. There are too many guns and that is a few distance too problem-free to get them. And in case you do not accept as true with that fact, undergo in ideas the actual shown reality that there'll be 32 funerals this week that are in common words needed because someone had a gun who do not have. somewhat of taking a self-established prideful position on how your toddlers are not any further component of the concern, try to be more effective grateful about how your toddlers are not any further between the information. Violence would not play favorites and through this complicated day and age, we would want to continuously take inventory interior the benefits we nonetheless have somewhat of griping about how somewhat they are in many cases taken from us.

Well, think about it. If they stay in the building, and the poison gets to them, they will be BRAIN DEAD just like you! I sure hope you never get the emergency response job. And talk about never seeing something so stupid, I have never seen such a stupid question in my life. (By the way, what kind of poison killed all your brain cells??)

Because most of these things are not contagious, but affect only those in a small area.
